In 2012, I was contacted by a woman named Carol from Fort Morgan, Colorado asking if I could make a lung cancer awareness angel pin. One of her friends, Sue, who had never smoked, was diagnosed with lung cancer. She wanted to start an angel brigade to pray for her friend during her chemo treatments. Everyone who purchased a pin was given a prayer card and was asked to wear the pin until Sue was finished with her treatments and say the prayer each day. The lung cancer angel pin has a pearl ribbon on the skirt.
Her friends and family purchased them and began praying. Soon those in her church learned about the angel brigade and began purchasing the pins and praying. Then the local newspaper was made aware of the angel brigade and ran a story about Sue. People in the community started buying the pins and praying for Sue. When Sue would be shopping in Fort Morgan, total strangers would come up to her and tell her they had been praying for her. The doctors and nurses treating her were so touched that they bought the pins, too. Sue and her husband were so touched and overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and prayers.
When Sue finished her treatments she went for a scan. The doctors told her they saw no sign of the cancer and that she was healed. The POWER OF PRAYER got Sue through the chemo treatments and she had been healed. I was blessed to meet these two women of faith and have lunch with them.
If you know someone who is fighting cancer of any kind, show support for them by giving or wearing an awareness guardian angel pin. I can make them for any kind of cancer. But most of all---don't forget the POWER OF PRAYER!
